Trump Administration Launches Official UFO Files Release!
Following President Donald J. Trump’s call for the government to identify, review, declassify, and release records related to UFOs and Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, the Department of War has launched a new public portal: the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters, or PURSUE. The site is intended to serve as the central home for declassified UAP files, including videos, photos, reports, and source documents drawn from across the federal government.
The May 8, 2026 rollout marks the first batch in what officials describe as an ongoing, rolling release, with additional tranches expected as records are located, reviewed, and cleared for public access.
According to the Department of War, the release is part of an interagency effort involving the White House, ODNI, DOE, NASA, the FBI, intelligence components, and the Department’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, or AARO. While AARO has been a controversial agency within the UFO-disclosure community, the new PURSUE portal places the rollout under broader Department of War and intelligence-community coordination rather than presenting it as an AARO-only project.
